Have you avoided the Avocado in the past because you heard it has a high fat content? It is high in fat, however the fat in Avocado is mostly monounsaturated fat which is a healthy fat.
Monounsaturated fat is beneficial to your health in several ways:
Monounsaturated fat boosts the absorption of certain nutrients such as lycopene, carotenoids and lutein by several times when combined with other foods.
Avocado’s contain several different carotenoids and is especially high in the carotenoid Lutein. The Avocado is also high in Vitamin E. The monounsaturated fat aids the carotenoids absorption into the blood stream and this combination of nutrients inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
Vitamin E is also known for reducing inflammation and protecting the cells from damage and helps to protect against cardiovascular disease.
Lutein and zeaxanthin (also found in Avocado’s) are the only carotenoids found in the retina and lens of the eye. These carotenoids help to reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.
Avocado’s significantly improve cholesterol levels. A study found that participants who ate Avocado’s every day for a week experienced an average 17% drop in total blood cholesterol. The participants LDL cholesterol levels (bad cholesterol) dropped and their HDL cholesterol levels (good cholesterol) significantly increased. Avocados are a rich source of the phytosterol beta-sitosterol which has been shown to contribute in the significant decrease in blood cholesterol levels by blocking the absorption of cholesterol.
Beta-sitosterol has also been shown to lower blood pressure.
Avocado’s contain glutathione a building block of protein. Research has shown that glutathione helps to prevent different types of cancers, including throat and oral cancer.
Avocado is a complete source of protein because it contains all the essential amino acids. Protein helps to curb the appetite and it also builds and repairs tissue. Avocado is also high in fiber which helps you to feel full longer.
Eating Avocado is a great supplement for the vitamins and minerals that you need because it is nutrient packed. Avocado is high in Vitamin C which helps to promote a healthy immune system, Vitamin K and Folate, which helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Avocado’s are high in Potassium which helps regulates blood pressure. And the Avocado is high in Copper which helps support healthy thyroid function and promotes strong bones and connective tissue and Vitamin B6 which helps support the nervous system and helps alleviate the risk of depression.
Here is the best part, Avocado’s are delicious! They are one of my favorite foods. My favorite way to eat the Avocado is to slice it, then sprinkle with olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt and pepper.
In short, Avocado does the body good!
Milk does NOT do a body good. Next to wheat gluten allergic reactions, Milk is one of the most powerful allergen causing “foods”.
About 80% of the protein in milk comes from casein which is a polymer used to make plastics and glue. This casein creates mucus which is a major contributing factor towards, sinus, bronchial and asthma problems.
Growth Hormones found in cows, trigger cancer cells and causes them to grow. Monsanto has even created a product which is injected into cows to boost milk production, that increases human growth hormone by up to 80%.
Milk also includes pesticides, herbicides, dioxins, as well as powerful antibiotics.
Milk is not a good source of calcium, because the high protein content in milk actually block calcium absorption. The largest dairy producing countries are also the same countries with the largest percentage of people with Osteoporosis.
A protein in milk, Lactalbumin has been determined to be a key contributing factor to Diabetes.
Milk also contributes to obesity, high cholesterol and heart disease and digestive problems.

A study in 2007 reported that participants taking daily Vitamin D supplements were three times less likely to report cold and flu symptoms. During the last year of the study, the participants were give a higher dose of 2000 IU/day of Vitamin D which resulted in virtually no reports of cold or flu symptoms.
Vitamin D is Free and you can get it from spending 15-20 minutes a day in the sun. An alternative source to the sun would be to visit a tanning salon (in my opinion). Pay attention to your mood level after visiting a tanning salon, the shot of Vitamin D you just received really brightens your mood!
By the way, high levels of antioxidants in your body is the best sunscreen for your skin, which you can get from proper nutrition.
Another good source of Vitamin D is cod liver oil.
